Unboxing Tools - Parkside 20V - Cordless Angle Grinder 125mm Disc

In today's video...

we're going to unbox this angle grinder.

I bought this Parkside angle grinder from my local shop.

Let's take a peek at what's inside this lovely carrying case.

The first thing I see is the manual.

For some beginner it might be useful.

But for someone as experienced as me... not so much.

In the box I find the angle grinder itself, a cutting disc, a handle, and a key for changing the disc.

I like that there is a second PVC guard on top of the metal guard. It covers the outer part of the disc, providing more protection.

To test the angle grinder, I will compare it with my current one, which is already two years old.

I will try it with different batteries. I have prepared several types of 2 and 4 amp hour batteries.

As you know, each brand has its own batteries. Fortunately, I have quite a few Parkside tools and I have their types.

At first the sound seemed a little strange to me, but then I got used to it.

Now I notice that the angle grinder also has a speed regulator.

I put a 4Ah battery in here, and my face is from the strange sound this machine makes.

A slight inconvenience is that the case cannot be closed without removing the handle.

While this problem does not exist with batteries: both with small and large ones, the lid closes.

The case has space for two batteries and a charger, which, as you know, are purchased separately.

Of course, a complete set is not necessary for full-fledged operation.

In terms of dimensions, the Parkside is a little longer, but in terms of weight, I feel they are the same.

The switch button on both are in standard position.

The Rider says 10,000 rpm and the Parkside says 11,500. That gives it a slight edge over my angle grinder.

In terms of price, the Parkside cost me about 45 euros.

Rider was 35 euros, but 2 years ago. Adjusted for inflation, they are exactly in the same price range.

I will put the same disc - "Parkside Performance" on both angle grinders.

Also two fully charged 4Ah batteries to start from the same ground.

The test I have prepared for them is a steel profile with size 50 by 50 and 5mm thickness.

Here I want to point out that such a profile is a big challenge for these angle grinder.

Whoever manages to cut it will get an excellent grade.

I have never tried to cut such a thick metal with a cordless angle grinder.

In general, a larger and more powerful angle grinder should be used for such a task.

As you can see the disk stops with more pressure from my side.

But the goal is to cut with less pressure.

Here, I will try the same way with my angle grinder.

As you can see it also stops. But let's not forget that these are battery powered tools.

In the end, I was left with the feeling that Rider did a little better, but I could be wrong.

Let me try the Parkside again, but on the top side.

The extra PVC cover really does a great job.

Finally, I'll show what happens when I use a similar tool, but mains powered.

And like the Parkside, it also has 11,000 rpm.

It is obvious that cordless angle grinders cannot be compared to mains powered ones.

I'm continuing to test the one from Parkside. I want to see how it does with grinding.

Again, there is a break when I push harder.

But with less pressure and more patience, things turn out well.

I decided to try cutting a 20 by 20 profile as well.

I notice that when I slightly curve the disc, it stops.

Maybe it's some kind of protection? If anyone knows, please write in the comments.

Overall, the tool did its job.

Overall, my opinion is that for this price, you can't expect much more.

If you need a cordless angle grinder to use for small cuts or filing, this one will do the job.

But for more serious stuff, you'll need a more expensive tool.

Personally, I will continue to use it, and will report back to you if I have any future problems with it.
