This is week six. Week six, we've got

two more weeks to go and we're finished

with the first half of the course. How's

it going for everyone?

excited because you all are doing a

phenomenal, phenomenal job.

Well done. So, if this is your first

time here and some of you have said,

"Hey, every week somebody says, 'Hey,

this is my first time.'" So, I got to

tell you, the purpose of this class,

this is not an instructional class. Some

people, especially people that come that

they tend to say, "I wish you solve the

scenarios out more." That is not the

purpose of this class. The purpose of

this class is for people who already

know how to solve it out, solve it out,

not pros, but I want you to be on this

level of thinking because we are

learning some things and we're also

learning tips to move faster when we're

taking our medical coding exams. And

also, I want to help you process. So,

this is not to instruct, even though at

sometimes it may seem like I'm trying to

instruct, but that's not my goal. My

goal is to hold you accountable. I want

to be more accessible to answer your

questions. I want to review what you

probably should already know and if you

don't know it, at least you can gauge

and you can self

direct. You know, you can say, "All

right, well, this is where I should be

and I need to do this to get there." At

least you know, right? Also, I want to

give you tips on how to navigate your

course and point out key guidelines.

It's always going to be that.

um just kind of popped in and not really

click on YouTube course and when you get

there, you read. You know, definitely

read and find out what you're getting

into.

Fill out that enrollment form, and then

download the syllabus. Follow the

syllabus in order.

And that's it. All right? So, on your

syllabus, in order to come to classes,

you should click on the pertinent week.

Right now, we're on week six.

Right. So, this is week six. So, this is

what you should have clicked on. And if

you want to get ahead of the game, go

ahead and click on all of them. Now, it

ends right here at week eight, and then

we start back up week nine. I'm a

minimalist.

If you didn't know, I'm a minimalist,

and I like to make things easy. So,

you're going to see the remaining weeks

come up. I would say, I'm going to put

it up after week seven. Just you know,

so it can be nice and neat. All right.

Now, after you click the link, it's

going to

you know, you'll land to the YouTube

channel. And down here on the left,

you'll see this um

Right now, it says waiting. It shouldn't

say that. It says waiting now, because I

just clicked it right before class. But,

it'll

it will allow you to RSVP. So, you just

click on it, and it will remind you at

the time of class.

In terms of textbooks, essentially for

week for the first part, for weeks one

through eight, your textbook is your

ICD-10-CM manual. That is the main one.

If that's the only thing you can afford,

that's what you should have. And you

know what? If you have to get a used

one, because, you know, funds are

limited, get a used one. Take in this

information. It is free.

All right. Now, to join Discord, if you

want to join Discord, you can do so from

the syllabus. Okay? Now, um

Discord, what are the advantages? Well,

there are some additional resources in

there. And um we'll I'll tell you about

it next week, but I wasn't planning on

it this week. I really wanted to get

into the content, and give you more

content this week than I did last week.

All right. But, essentially, if you want

to join Discord, instructions are on

your syllabus. Now,

last time I spoke to you about

Vitalsource. Some of you have the AMCI

um MCG manual, which is an ebook on

Vitalsource. And we were accused of

gatekeeping. And you know what? I did

know about this, but I didn't know that

I don't know why I didn't share this,

but I want I want to thank the person

that said, "Hey, AMCI stopped

gatekeeping." So, if you go to your MCG

[clears throat] manual, you just click

on it from Vitalsource, and then you can

make

flashcards from your MCG manual. So,

essentially, whatever it is that you

want to make the flashcard on, you just

copy it.

Right? So, let's say I want to copy

this, this part right here. That's going

to be my question, and then I'll do my

answer. So, I'm going to copy it, then

click

create flashcard. All you have to do is

just hover over it, and this little um

message will appear. So, you don't have

to search for anything, just highlight

it. And then you click create flashcard,

and then you paste it.
