DJI Neo 2 vs HoverAir X1 Pro Max #djineo2 #hoverairx1promax
FULL TRANSCRIPT
Now, what's better, the DJI Neo2 or the
Hover Air X1 Pro Max? Well, as far as
the Hover Air X1 goes, you certainly get
the more compact form factor. It's
roughly about half the footprint of the
Neo2, making it a lot more pocket
friendly. And if you're looking for a
little bit better video quality while
being a little bit smaller, the Hover
certainly has an advantage there. As far
as the video quality, you can record 8K
resolution at 30 fps, 4K at 120 frames
per second, and the 4K 60 is also HDR 10
bit, and it can record log color
profiles. So, for professional use
applications, you're certainly going to
get better looking video footage coming
out of the hover. You also get the
dollyot tracking capabilities, which is
going to offer tracking shots with a
little bit less side to side or up and
down auxiliary movements, giving you
that more professional look.
Furthermore, the Beacon controller is a
pretty innovative design on the Hover.
It's a lot more compact with its modular
design. You can use it with just the
touchscreen or one-handed or two-handed
mode. It has built-in motion
controllers. It's just a little bit
better thought out and certainly more
portable design compared to the
traditional RC controller found on the
Neo. Lastly, you get more internal
storage capacity of 64 GB versus 49 gigs
and a SD card slot, which is not
available on the Neo 2. Now, what are
the advantages on the Neo2? Well,
firstly, much better and consistent
tracking performance. We found ourselves
in a lot of situations where uh even
though this has obstacle avoidance
system, it still managed to crash versus
we have omniirectional obstacle
avoidance on the Neo2 that works a lot
better. And even if it gets contact with
a branch along the way, it will actually
recover, do a 360 spin, and continue
following you versus in most cases if
the hover gets into a crash, it's just
going to give up and you kind of lose
your shot. Now, even though we have 8K
and higher quality 4K capturing
capabilities on the Hover, I still think
that the 4K 60 looks great on the Neo2.
Big upgrade from the original and good
enough for most users out there. The
other big thing is that it's very
efficient with its video capturing
capabilities. At around 50 megabits per
second, you can capture over 2 hours of
4K footage internally versus about an
hour and a half on the Hover if you're
just using the internal storage.
Furthermore, you get slightly better
battery life on the Neo2 and with the
transceiver module and the RC controller
of up to 10 km range versus only 1 kmter
range with the hover. Another big thing
is the hand gesture controls. You can
simply bring out your palm, go left,
right, up and down, back and forth, and
the drone will mimic your exact
movements. You can do this in active
track mode and in spotlight and actively
adjust the angle of your viewpoint while
it's in flight. Super handy and
convenient and works great most of the
time. Last but not least is the price
point. If you can get your hands on the
Neo2, it's an exceptional value. Here in
Canada, it's about $230 USD versus uh
the Hover, even if it's on sale, is
around at least three to four times the
price. That's certainly uh a pretty big
deal, especially considering that if
you're looking for a good self-tracking
drone, this is actually the better
tracking drone versus this has the
better camera quality. So, it really
depends on what your needs are. But if
