Macbook Pro Killer?

So, Framework just had their next-gen

event for their 2026 line of products.

I watched it live. I had a lot of mixed

feelings, a lot of excitement

admittedly, but there's also some

skepticism because I'm not exactly

susceptible to marketing. They're going

to have a saying that comes up that

says,

"You will own everything and be free."

And I really want to believe that. And

[music] uh

that seems to be the direction things

are headed, so

I won't hold up your time too long.

I want to go ahead and get into this

event and give you my reaction to

everything.

Now,

I want to switch to the Framework Laptop

13.

Oh boy, here we go.

It's what we started with all the way

back in 2021.

And it represents the core of our

product ideology. What's been holding

you back from jumping in? The biggest

thing has been battery life.

We've heard that feedback from you over

and over again. You might have seen this

timer running earlier, and you might be

wondering what this thing is. Yep. This

specific test is local video playback

actually for copyright reasons, but

we're also achieving over 20 hours of

Netflix 4K streaming. And we've not only

caught up to the 14-in MacBook Pro M5 in

a number of use cases.

In this specific one, we're actually

surpassing it. I'm very excited for this

upgraded battery life. Um

I was going to say earlier, it's funny

that I didn't even notice the first time

I was watching this, the

new graphite black chassis that they

basically just teased there in that new

keyboard. I thought it was a custom

build. I didn't realize that that was

what they were going to sell. And the

long battery life with the new chassis

I can't believe how much they just gave

away right there.

We know battery life claims from device

makers are usually totally bogus. So,

we're actually going to be publishing

full-length videos and setup

descriptions to our Framework YouTube

channel over the coming months, so you

can actually repeat the same test that

we're running. I really love to see that

transparency from Framework. Literally,

they're putting their money on the line

and showing you exactly what to expect

by

putting videos out of the laptop being

used and testing the battery, and then

you can compare that for yourself once

you buy it. I don't think that Apple has

ever done anything like this at at

least, you know, showing just how long

their batteries worked. Everyone just

trusted them. And you know, I guess they

were right for trusting them cuz they do

have great batteries, but

they're so secretive with everything

else they do. It's amazing that

Framework is just so confident in what

they're making that they're going to

just

post the results and the real-time

results

who might be skeptical about buying.

Because yeah, I've read the comments and

I see a lot of you guys say that the

Framework is a bad deal.

It's not. Uh the values are good, and

now this is finally

sounding like it's going to start, you

know,

packing a punch and

trading blows with Apple, and I'm really

excited to see where that goes.

What we're set excited to announce today

is

the Framework Laptop 13

Pro. Oh, that looks sexy. Look at

[applause and cheering] that.

Yes.

So, how did we get that massive leap in

battery life? First, the battery.

This is now 74.45

watt hours, and we've achieved that both

by making the battery physically larger

and by increasing the energy density to

850 watt hours per liter.

Called it. We also have a new 100-watt

power adapter to support that larger

battery. Next, we move to Intel's latest

Core Ultra Series 3 processor platform.

Yeah.

>> That's pretty recent, isn't it?

Yeah, Core Ultra 3 is their current.

That's insane. That's incredible. I'm

actually really excited about that.

There's

a massive leap in efficiency over the

last generation and over anything that

we've shipped in a Framework Laptop

before. We're also using LPDDR5 too.

Yeah, that is insane. They I didn't

think they could make the memory

modular, but they they did. That is

Ooh,

>> this is going to be hard not to upgrade

to. I can't [snorts] believe this I

can't I can't believe this. I'm going to

have a hard time saying no to this

upgrade. Uh

I'll probably say no when I see the

price though, because I mean, yeah.

And that's not on Framework for me

saying that. It's not because their

pricing is bad, it's because the the RAM

market is bad, and I'm going to have if

I buy this mainboard, I'm going to have

to buy RAM, so you know, basically

buying two mainboards.

in a modular form factor.

We've got capacities with up to 64

gigabytes. And in today's environment,

when memory prices are just crazy high,

that means you can pick up the memory

you need today, knowing that you can

always upgrade in the future when you

need to.

here. Nice. I like the uh

little jab with the Apple.

Nice reference. They're really They

really are being up front with them

trying to trade blows.

I hope they do. I hope it ends up being

just

exactly the competition they need.

Yeah, see, I have 32 gigs right now. I'm

not dropping $439.

Uh

if I were to upgrade, I would want 64

gigs, and that's a mainboard. That is

the cost of a mainboard. That There's no

way that's happening.

We've also introduced this new finish

that we're calling graphite.

I think it looks great. And if you have

a Framework Laptop 13 already, we also

have all of the new 13 chassis parts

available in a silver colorway as well.

I just want to stop it right there.

Graphite, an incredible color. I've been

wanting my I've been wanting my laptop

to look like this forever. I've missed

the look of the ThinkPad.
