Don't Buy a DJI Until You See This! Falcon Mini Bi-Copter 4K Drone!
FULLSTÄNDIGT TRANSKRIPT
Before I show you everything this little
machine can do, let me set the stage for
you. I've been flying drones for years
now. Consumer level, professional level,
you name it. I've had my hands on
everything from entry-level toys to 4
figure cinema rigs. So, when I say the
Falcon Mini caught me off guard, I mean
that with full sincerity. This is not
another forgettable sub $400 drone that
looks good on a spec sheet and
disappoints in the field. The Falcon
Mini comes from 00 Robotics, the same
team behind the well-loved Hoverire X1
selfie drone, and retails for $379 for
the standard kit. And yes, for that
price, you get 4K video, 12 megapixel
photos, 2.7K vertical video, a
three-axis gimbal, and a windresistance
rating that competes with drones in
similar price brackets. Now, I know what
you're thinking. That sounds too good to
be true. That's exactly why I didn't
just unbox this thing and call it a day.
I put it through a full month of
realworld testing and every claim I make
in this video is backed up by the
footage you're going to see on screen
right now unboxing and first
impressions. All right, let's open this
thing up. Right out of the box, the
packaging feels premium, much more
premium than I'd expect at this price.
Inside you've got the Falcon Mini
itself, the RC remote, a charging cable,
propeller guards, spare propellers, and
the user manual. The drone folds up
incredibly compact. You can genuinely
toss this into a backpack without a
dedicated case, which is something I
love for travel. The moment you unfold
those two V-shaped arms, something just
clicks. This thing has presence. It
looks different from every other drone
on the shelf, and that's not an
accident. The V-shaped biccopter design
is a first of its kind in the sub 250 g
category, and it immediately tells you
that 00 Robotics wasn't trying to copy
the usual formula. They've been
experimenting with biccopter technology
since the original Vcopter Falcon
launched back in 2020. So, this isn't a
first attempt. It's a refined
miniaturized evolution of that proven
design. And here's something that put a
genuine smile on my face. There's zero
FAA registration required for the Falcon
Mini because of its weight class. At 249
g, it falls under the threshold that
triggers mandatory registration, which
means you take it out of the box, charge
it up, and you're flying. No paperwork,
no waiting, no hassle. Design and build
quality. Now, let's talk about this
design because it's the elephant in the
room, and honestly, it deserves serious
discussion. Most consumer drones use
four propeller arms in an X or H
pattern. The Falcon Mini uses two.
That's it. Two arms angled in a V-shape,
each carrying a single propeller mounted
above the drone's body. And because it's
pushing air with two rotors instead of
four, the noise profile drops
dramatically. 00 Robotics measured it at
around 62 dibels during flight. That's
remarkably quiet for any drone. To put
that in perspective, a normal
face-to-face conversation sits at about
60 dB. So, you're looking at a drone
that's barely louder than two people
talking across a table. That matters
enormously if you're shooting in public
spaces, at events, or anywhere that
drone buzz tends to annoy people. The
build itself feels solid without being
heavy. The chassis is reinforced at key
stress points, and the servo motors are
built from high strength alloy steel,
rated for up to 1 million engagements, a
spec that tells you this is engineered
for long-term durability, not just an
impressive paper stat. The three-axis
gimbal housing is well protected, and
you can physically feel it compensating
when you tilt the drone in your hands.
There's also a transparent lens cap
included to protect the camera during
transport, which is a small but
appreciated detail. App and controller
deep dive. Let's talk about the brains
of the operation, [music] the app, and
the RC remote, because this is where a
lot of budget drones fall apart, and
it's where the Falcon Mini genuinely
holds its own. The RC remote that comes
included is clean and minimalistic. It
doesn't try to do too much. You've got
your thumb sticks, a return to home
button, a dedicated video and photo
shutter button, and a power switch.
There's no confusing maze of sub buttons
that you'll accidentally hit mid-flight.
Everything is exactly where you'd want
it. One important thing to note, unlike
some higherend remotes, this controller
doesn't have a built-in screen. Instead,
it has a phone clamp on top and you
mount your smartphone to use as your
live viewfinder through the Vcopter app.
That's a design choice that keeps the
remote lightweight and the cost down.
And once your phone is clipped in, the
experience feels natural. The app
interface gives you a live feed with
access to map view, battery readout,
transmission signal, and satellite
count. The essentials you need at a
glance during flight. For shooting
modes, you get quick shots, including
orbit and zoom out, which adds a
cinematic element you really don't
expect at this price. You can shoot in
4K at 30 frames per second, 2.7K at 60
frames per second for smoother slow
motion style footage, or 2.7K vertically
for social media. The settings panel
lets you configure return to home
altitude, max flight distance, and lost
connection behavior. All solid safety
controls. Real world flight test. Okay,
this is the section you actually came
here for. How does it fly in the real
world? And I want to be completely
straight with you. I didn't test this on
a perfect sunny day with zero wind. I
tested it in snow. I tested it in
crosswinds. I pushed the range. I
triggered the return to home mid-flight
to see if it could find its way back.
Let's start with general flight feel.
The Falcon Mini is incredibly smooth and
calm to mild wind conditions. Hovering
is stable. Directional control is
responsive without being twitchy, and
firsttime flyers will find the learning
curve genuinely forgiving. The GPS hold
is rock solid. When you take your hands
off the sticks, the drone stays exactly
where you left it, even with a light
breeze. Now, let's talk speed, because
this is where the Falcon Mini surprised
me the most. In turbo mode, this thing
hits up to 38 mph, nearly 17 m/s. I was
not expecting that from a 249 g drone.
In normal mode, it caps at a more
manageable 13.5 mph, which is perfect
for smooth footage. And the return to
home accuracy, tested during a
snowstorm, mind you, landed within 30 cm
of the takeoff point. That's not a
number you typically expect from a drone
at this price, and it's a testament to
how much 00 Robotics has improved the
firmware since the initial reveal. Image
and video quality. Let's talk about what
actually matters most when you're buying
a drone for content creation. What does
the footage actually look like? I'll cut
straight to it. The 4K video from the
Falcon Mini is genuinely good. Not just
good for the price, just good. Colors
are accurate, detail is sharp, and the
threeaxis gimbal does an excellent job
of keeping footage smooth even when the
drone is navigating mild turbulence.
When I reviewed the clips from my
snowstorm flight test, I honestly had to
remind myself what I paid for this.
Rolling shutter is present. It's a small
COS sensor, so that's expected, but it's
minimal enough that most viewers won't
notice unless they're specifically
looking for it. The 12 megapixel photo
mode produces clean, sharp stills with
natural color reproduction. Great for
landscape shots, overhead aerial
photography, and real estate previews.
