WNBA GM's forgot all about Caitlin Clark and the the Fever as survey omits team from top mentions!
全トランスクリプト
The WNBA GM survey has dropped, which is
a survey where they ask all of these
WNBA GMs questions like best players,
best coaches, best offseason moves, and
y'all
just get ready for a bit of a rant. from
the world.
>> Well, the GM survey has dropped and I'm
just going to say it straight out, the
disrespect
is just glaring. If you know, you know.
And I consider myself a pretty
level-headed commentator. I do glaze
players that I love. Caitlyn Clark being
one of them, Gabby Williams being
another one. and Raven Johnson is going
to get a whole bunch of glaze this
season hopefully. But I do feel as if
the league just kind of forgot about
Caitlyn Clark and forgot about this
whole idea that the league was turned
upside down upon her arrival. I do see
the league growing. I see it in a lot of
the things that I post on social media.
I see a lot of various engagement, but
the fact of the matter is Caitlyn Clark
is definitely a huge presence in this
league. Now, she did get injured last
season. So, I think that recent there's
a lot of recency bias, but it all starts
with the players that they choose to
highlight. And if you look at this
graphic, there is someone notably
absent. There's also an NBC promotion
for the league where they did choose
Paige Becker's uh Asia Wilson and
Sabrina Anescu. I didn't really say
anything about that because it's like,
you know, sometimes you do have to
highlight other players and whatnot, but
this does seem like just such a
consistent thing. And as soon as we get
into the actual answers in the survey, I
think you're gonna see what I mean. And
believe me, I do watch all of the WNBA
games. When I do post tweets, I post
about all of the players. I It doesn't I
don't even think about politics. I don't
think about any of that. I think about
what they do on the court. And I get
really excited. Like I got really
excited when Britney Grinder like was on
a heater in a preseason game. That just
to me was fun to watch because Britney
Grinder was obviously trying to prove a
point. I got really upset that Sabrina
Anescu went down and she's going to miss
some time after she rolled her ankle.
But I do think that there is so much
disregard for the Caitlyn Clark and the
Indiana Fever in general in this league.
And I don't exactly understand it. Let's
just go to some of the meat of it. Who
do you think is the best point guard in
the league? And Chelsea Gray received
73% of the votes from GMs, of which
Caitlyn Clark received 20%.
I I don't understand it. And Chelsea
Gray was an amazing point guard. The
things that she did in 2024, I wish that
everyone that is a fan now could have
been able to watch her. Sorry, not 2020,
2023. What she did in 2023. I wish that
everyone was able to see just what she
put down on the court. Unfortunately,
Chelsea Gray did go down with a big
injury and she returned in 2024 a lot
slower, definitely having to kick a lot
of rest off. And in 2025, her stats, she
was just a better shooting guard than a
point guard. That showed in the eye
test, that showed in stats. And there is
no way you can argue around that. In
Chelsea's best year in assists in the
league, she did get 7.3 assists per
game. That's what she averaged. And that
was in 2023. And upon Caitlyn Clark's
entry in her rookie season, Caitlyn
Clark not only broke the game assists in
the WNBA, she broke the overall total
assists in the entire for the entire
history of the WNBA. So, it's very hard
to argue that Chelsea Gray is a better
point guard than Caitlyn Clark. Even
last season with Caitlyn Clark only
playing 13 games. Caitlyn Clark averaged
more assists per game than Chelsea Gay's
best year, which was what did she get in
2025? She averaged 8.8 assists per game
with 8.5 total in her two seasons. But
she also did it while she was powering
through injuries. Imagine what would
have happened if she wasn't injured. The
recency bias in this is glaring. Last
season, Chelsea Gray did average 5.4
four assists. And I watched all of those
games and Chelsea Gray had a rough go of
it in the beginning of the season, but
she was able to get to that midi and
knock shots down. She could get a shot
off at the three in clutch moments.
She's Chelsea Gray is so clutch. Listen,
I'm of the opinion that Chelsea Gray at
one point was the best point guard in
the league. That was It's arguable. It's
arguable that Chelsea Gray was
definitely the best point guard in the
WNBA at one point. I do just think that
at this point, the torch has passed.
This is not being said from any hate.
It's just plain like undeniable. But
Caitlyn is not the only one that I feel
was massively overlooked as who is the
best shooting guard in the WNBA question
answer was Jackie Young, which okay,
that's arguable. But the number two
answer was Paige Beckers over Kelsey
Mitchell. But Kelsey Mitchell did get
all WNBA first team. She came fourth in
MVP voting. So, it's really weird to see
her under Paige Beckers in the shooting
guard position. I mean, even Jackie
Young got all WNBA second team last
season. There are a lot of things that
Paige and Kelsey had to do. They both
had to carry teams that were very hard.
But the fact is is that Kelsey Mitchell
carried a hospital squad to within five
within five minutes of being in the
finals game against the Aces. Paige
Beckers and the Dallas Wings did not get
anywhere near there. Now the I think the
argument might be that Paige Beckers got
19 points a game and Kelsey Mitchell got
17 point averaged 17 points a game last
season but I think it's like where you
carry your team and for that specific
reason I do feel that Kelsey Mitchell
was definitely slighted. Now this could
be marginal but it was only 13% of the
GMs that did say that Kelsey Mitchell
was the best shooting guard of the WNBA
and uh 20% for Paige and 27 for Jackie.
But I think that what happened to the
Indiana Fever last season with all of
these new people, Kelsey Mitchell kind
of like took on all of the scoring load.
And you can also argue that Paige took
on a lot of that, too. Well, listen,
let's move on from this because there is
so much more to talk about. Like Briana
Stewart has 27% of the MVP votes and her
season last season. I mean, that is that
was just like not in any sort of MVP
talks. Like how how is there 27% of I
just I just don't see it. There are nods
to a couple of votes for Caitlyn Clark
and Alicia Gray and last year it was
Nfisa Collier. I mean Nfisa Collier
isn't really mentioned here a lot, but
the only reason I see that as being okay
is because she will be missing a
significant part of the season. Other
than that, it's it's kind of like I I
haven't forgotten who Nisa Collier is
either. And as far as who they would
start a franchise with, the number one
answer was Paige Becker's by 33% where
Caitlyn got 20%. And again, I I feel
like the league is just forgetting the
trajectory that it catapulted into when
she entered the league. And I know that
Paige is being pushed heavily. You know,
she was just at the Met Gala, but the
Met Gala is not the type of thing that
Caitlyn I don't even think would go to
if she were invited. And she might very
well have been invited. I do think it's
interesting that 13% that said that they
would start a franchise around Dominique
Malonga, though. But it's like Stewie is
still receiving votes in this category
and I I I just don't think that it's her
time anymore. I mean, Stewie has I think
Stewie has gotten to the top of her
career and god, what a career Stewie
had. What a career for real. And she
looks great in preeason, but she is also
getting older. I mean, there were
definitely moments where I think that
