well many of you know that this course

is a 16 week course structured to break

down coding Concepts coding guidelines

into these digestible nuggets you'll get

stepbystep instruction you'll get

handson practice and by default you're

going to get some of am I's proven study

techniques so that's good and by the end

of this course you will be ready to prep

for the medical coding

exams and you might say Mrs Shay what

are you talking about isn't this a prep

course no it isn't it is an

instructional course we are going to

give you what you

need the structure so you can prep and

so you will have optimal

chances of not just having success on

the exam but success after the exam

we're going to talk about that in a

moment but before you on your screen

this is the YouTube course right from

you can find you'll get the link by the

end of the class but here you can find

everything about the course

specifically the textbooks that you need

how to purchase your texts and your

syllabus your syllabus is everything

we're going to look at it at the end and

at a glance you can see what we'll be

discussing the first eight weeks and

then weeks 9 to

16 all right so everything you need is

on this website so you might want to

lock it in

since we've announced that we're going

to have this course on YouTube we've

been getting a ton of questions now we

can't answer all of them but I've

compiled a list and I'm going to try and

answer some of them and each week if

applicable I'll answer them so if you

have questions definitely submit them on

the survey at the end you'll be given a

link for the survey also the survey will

also be available on the website so um

I'll just say this if you want to know

a lot of times it's in the description

of the video that you're watching on

website that's question number one and

answered all right so here are the most

common questions why why are we offering

this YouTube course how come Monday

nights are not live what is the

difference between the YouTube course

and the AMCI paid

course will we be ready to test at the

end of this course meaning will you be

ready for your

certification and I think we have one

more and that's do I have to become a

YouTube member to participate in this

course I'm going to answer that question

now I'm going to answer five

first all right so you probably know or

you don't that YouTube has memberships

it gives um you know different creators

an opportunity to have members so the

question do I need to become an AMCI

member on the YouTube channel to

participate in this course

and the answer is no no you do

not but we do have a membership and what

is the advantage the advantage is we

have a Discord group now the Discord is

where you can kind of interface with

other students who are taking this

course and also if we have anything to

share we're going to share it in the

Discord now I tried to do it um open up

the Discord for free but I was cautioned

against it because of the Bots and the

spamming so we can't make it free but it

is

$2.99 a month if you

choose also membership has three

different levels bronze silver and gold

of course gold you get more stuff

however silver and up you can

participate in the exam prep content

again this is not an exam Prep course

there's a lot of exam prep courses out

there that kind of present themselves as

a full course but they may not know it

their exam prep so here we're going to

teach you the nitty-gritty we're going

to teach you the

guidelines and

nuances all right I digress I'm back all

right so if you go to the website and

you click join you can join and become a

member that's it it is not

mandatory all

right here's another question why are we

offering the free YouTube

course why well at AMCI we believe in

training World Class Medical coders who

are not just exam ready when I say exam

ready multiple choice exam ready but job

ready this free course is a part of our

commitment to elevating the standards in

the medical coding industry this is our

way of giving back to the community and

since 2015 we've done just that that is

how we've gotten our start um and also

in

2015 we launched

a and ation technique for

CPT and it just so happens that this is

AMCI 10th year anniversary it's The

annotation technique called Chan's 10th

anniversary and I think that offering a

fully comprehensive 16 week

certification
