Prayer for Rekindling First Love Fire | COMMAND YOUR NIGHT | August 12, 2025
全トランスクリプト
[Music]
Father, tonight we lift up thanksgiving
from the depths of our hearts. Your word
says in 1 Chronicles 16:89,
"Oh, give thanks to the Lord. Call upon
his name. Make known his deeds among the
peoples. Sing to him. Sing praises to
him. Tell of all his wondrous works. So
we come to tell of your works, to
remember your mercies, and to recount
your faithfulness. We thank you because
you are the God who has kept us when we
could not keep ourselves. You are the
God who pursued us when our love grew
cold. You are the God who opened the
door again when we wandered away. We
bless you because you are unchanging in
your nature. The same yesterday, today,
and forever. Your mercy has been the
pillow our weary hearts have rested on.
Your faithfulness has been the light in
the night when all other lights went
out. Your love has been the anchor that
held us when waves of distraction and
complacency tried to carry us away.
Lord, we thank you that you never
stopped calling us back to the place of
intimacy. Even when our priorities
shifted, your voice still said, "Return
to me." We give you glory because every
breath in our lungs is evidence of your
patience. Every beat of our heart is
proof that you have not given up on us.
We thank you for the moments you
whispered when the noise was loud. For
the times you waited when we were slow
to respond. For the grace that allowed
us to come back again. Tonight our
thanksgiving is not shallow. It is
rooted in the reality that without you
we would be lost.
We praise you for being the God who
restores, the God who heals, the God who
revives, the God who brings us back to
our first love. And so, Lord, we linger
here in thanksgiving, for it is right to
dwell in gratitude before we ask for
anything. We remember your word in Psalm
34:1.
I will bless the Lord at all times. His
praise shall continually be in my mouth.
Tonight we bless you for the times we
understood your hand and for the times
we did not. Yet you were still working
all things together for our good. We
thank you for the battles you fought for
us in secret. For the storms you calmed
before they reached our shores. For the
arrows you broke before they ever
touched us. We thank you for your
patience with our wandering hearts. When
our zeal faded, you did not reject us.
You wooed us back. When our focus
shifted to lesser things, you reminded
us of the beauty of your presence. When
we became enamored with the gifts, you
lovingly redirected our gaze to the
giver. Every moment we turned away, you
stood waiting like the father in the
parable, ready to run toward us the
moment we took one step home. We thank
you for the cross, the eternal proof
that your love is not dependent on our
perfection, but on your covenant. We
thank you for the blood of Jesus that
cleanses us not just when we first
believed but every time we return in
repentance. We thank you for the Holy
Spirit who convicts, comforts, and draws
us back into the place of burning
devotion.
We thank you that even now your spirit
is stirring our hearts to love you as we
once did and more. We remember Lord that
you are the one who sustains the breath
in our bodies and the fire in our
spirits. Every answered prayer, every
door you opened, every deliverance you
performed is a reason for us to lift our
hands tonight. We give thanks because
you have never allowed our failures to
cancel our future. We give thanks
because you are restoring in us a single
eyed devotion. A love that is
undistracted, undiluted, and unshakable.
Lord, tonight we hear your voice from
Revelation 2:4.
I have this against you that you have
left your first love. We repent for
every moment you ceased to be our
highest priority.
We repent for the times when our hearts
drifted and we became more enamored with
what you could give us than with who you
are. Forgive us for allowing ministry,
work, relationships, and daily demands
to replace the place of intimacy.
Forgive us for letting the pace of life
drown out the stillness of devotion. We
confess that there have been days when
our lips spoke worship, but our hearts
were far from you. Isaiah 29:13.
There have been moments when our prayers
were words without passion. When our
service to you was void of true love,
when we honored you outwardly but
withheld ourselves inwardly. Father,
tonight we break agreement with that
lukewarmness. We refuse to remain in a
place where our love is cold and our
pursuit is half-hearted. Take us back to
the garden of communion where your
presence is our delight and not our
duty. Restore the hunger to seek you in
the secret place. Stir up a yearning for
your voice above all other voices.
Remove the distractions that have kept
us tethered to the temporary, the
endless scrolling, the constant noise,
the competing affections, and draw us
into the eternal. Let our first thoughts
in the morning be of you, and our last
meditation at night be on your goodness.
We cry out like David in Psalm 42:1.
As the deer pants for the water, so my
soul longs after you. Let that longing
burn in us again. Let the fire of first
love consume every lesser passion. Cause
our hearts to beat in rhythm with yours
until our worship is not just in song
but in surrendered living. Lord, let it
be said of us that our hearts and lips
are united in love for you. No
hypocrisy,
no pretense,
just wholehearted devotion. Then, Lord,
we stay here and press deeper. We will
not rush past this moment of returning.
We allow your spirit to search us to
expose every place where our love has
faded. Every place where we have settled
for familiarity instead of intimacy. We
remember when prayer was not a chore but
a lifeline. When worship flowed from us
without prompting. When your presence
was enough to satisfy us for hours.
Father, we confess that somewhere along
the way, the embers cooled, but tonight
we place our hearts back on the altar
for you to breathe upon. We remember the
joy of our salvation when obedience was
not negotiation but delight. When our
hearts raced at the thought of being
with you. When we measured our days not
by accomplishments but by encounters
with you. Bring us back to that place,
Lord, not as a memory, but as a living
reality that grows stronger every day.
Let the awe return. Let the trembling
reverence return. Let the love that once
made us lay everything down rise up in
us again.
We reject the shallow substitutes that
we have allowed to creep in. The
busyiness that masquerades as
faithfulness, the activity that hides
the absence of intimacy, the performance
that replaces genuine pursuit. We
renounce them, Lord. Strip them away
until all that is left is love for you.
Take away the coldness that has dulled
our responses to your spirit.
Remove the numbness that lets us sing
words our hearts do not feel. Break the
crust of complacency off of us until we
are tender again to your whisper. Let
our worship be weighty again, not with
formality but with fire. Let our prayers
be saturated with longing, not just
lists. Let our service be driven by
love, not obligation. Let this returning
not be temporary but permanent.
Let it mark a shift in our walk, a
turning point in our intimacy.
Burn away every layer that has insulated
us from your presence. Pull us into that
holy place where we are ruined for
anything less than you. Let our hearts
break again for what breaks yours. Let
us hunger until we are filled and thirst
