Father of lights, ancient of days, we
come before you tonight with reverence
and trembling gratitude. We thank you
because you have preserved us into this
watch of the night. We thank you because
our breath has not been taken from us.
Our minds have not been scattered and
our spirits have not been extinguished.
We bless you because you are the God who
speaks clearly in seasons of confusion,
the God who calls us higher when the
earth pulls us lower. As the prayer
rises tonight, let it rise like incense
before your throne. As the lifting of
our hands ascends, let it be as the
evening sacrifice. We honor you, Lord,
because you have not left us at the
mercy of our appetites. You have not
surrendered our destiny to our cravings.
You have not defined us by what we want
but by what you have spoken. We give you
praise because your word is alive and
powerful, sharper than any two-edged
sword, dividing between soul and spirit,
joints and marrow, and discerning the
thoughts and intents of the heart.
Tonight, we bow our appetites before
your authority.
Tonight, we enthrone you again as Lord,
not only of our spirit but of our body,
our desires, our hungers, our
inclinations, and our private cravings.
Father, as your word declares in
Philippians chapter 3 that there are
those whose God is their stomach, whose
glory is in their shame, and whose minds
are set on earthly things, we come
tonight refusing that identity. We
refuse to be governed by appetite. We
refuse to be ruled by hunger that was
never meant to lead us. We refuse to be
driven by cravings that war against the
soul.
Tonight, by the light of the spirit, we
identify the God of the stomach as an
enemy of destiny. We name it as an idol
that must fall.
We discern it as the same voice that
whispered in Eden, the same appetite
that reached for forbidden fruit, the
same craving that introduced death into
the human story. But Father, tonight we
declare that the cross has spoken a
better word. Tonight, we declare that
the power of the resurrection has broken
the authority of appetite over our
lives. We receive grace to overcome the
God of the stomach. We receive strength
to overcome the God of appetite. We
receive divine empowerment to say no to
the flesh and yes to the spirit. As your
word declares, those who are led by the
spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
Tonight, let sonship rise above
sensation. Let identity rise above
impulse. Let calling rise above craving.
Father, we stand before you and we
declare with holy resolve, we refuse to
go back. We refuse to go back to who we
were. We refuse to go back to what we
did. We refuse to go back to where we
were bound. We refuse to go back to
cycles you already broke. We refuse to
go back to appetites that almost
destroyed us.
Tonight, we shut the door to nostalgia
for bondage. We silence the voice that
counts down to sin instead of counting
up to glory.
We declare that this is not the season
to break down.
This is the season to break through.
Lord, recalibrate our appetites. Create
in us a new hunger. As David declared,
one thing have I desired of the Lord,
and that will I seek after. Let our
desire be singular again. Let our hunger
be holy again. Let our delight be
restored in the law of the Lord. Where
appetite has been fragmented, unify us.
Where desire has been polluted, cleanse
us. Where hunger has been misdirected,
realign us. Tonight, we declare that we
hunger and thirst for righteousness and
we shall be filled. Father, let this
month be different. Let this season be
different. Let this night mark a turning
point. Let strength rise where weakness
once lived. Let discipline be restored
where compromise once ruled. Let victory
be established where cycles once
repeated. Tonight, by your spirit, we
overcome the God of the stomach and we
step into the freedom of God in every
area of our lives. Father, carried
forward by the weight of what you have
already begun, we step deeper into the
night watch, deeper into the council of
God, deeper into the place where your
spirit broods over our lives and speaks
with clarity and force.
As we advance, we do not leave the
ground we have taken.
We build upon it.
What you have broken stays broken.
What you have conquered remains
conquered.
What you have dethroned will never rule
us again. Now, Father, we turn our faces
toward the battles that arise not from
within but from without.
We lift our eyes to discern the voices,
the mouths, the accusations,
the sudden oppositions that rise
unprovoked. As your word declares in
Judges chapter 14, Samson was simply
walking in obedience, simply moving
toward what was ordained when suddenly a
young lion came roaring against him.
Tonight, we recognize that not every
attack is provoked by wrongdoing. Some
attacks are provoked by destiny. Some
opposition arises not because we are
wrong but because we are moving forward.
Father, we thank you that your word does
not hide the reality of sudden attacks,
but it also does not hide the superior
reality of sudden empowerment.
For the scripture declares that when the
lion roared, the spirit of the Lord came
mightily upon Samson. Tonight, we are
not afraid of the roar because we are
expectant of the spirit. We declare that
every sudden opposition in our lives
will be met by a sudden release of
divine strength. Every unprovoked attack
will be answered by unprovoked power.
Every unexpected roar will be silenced
by an unexpected anointing. Lord, we
discern tonight that many of these lions
are young. They are immature voices.
They are inexperienced mouths. They are
untested opinions. They are accusations
without authority and noise without
weight. Yet your word teaches us wisdom.
Do not wait for the lion to grow. Do not
wait for the mouth to gain influence. Do
not wait
for the roar to become a system.
Tonight, we take authority early. We
confront the lion while it is still
young. We tear the mouth before it
learns how to devour. Father,
touch not my anointed and do my prophet
no harm.
We declare tonight that we will not
tolerate mouths that speak lies,
accusation, and slander against what you
have ordained. We refuse to entertain
the counsel of scoffers. We refuse to
sit in seats that mock your servants. We
refuse to lend our ears to demonic
enterprises disguised as revelation.
As Psalm 1 declares, blessed is the one
who does not walk, stand, or sit in
those places. Tonight, we choose
blessing by refusing proximity. Lord, by
the authority of your word, we shut down
every demonic broadcast. We silence
every voice sent to offend us out of our
miracle. We refuse to be distracted by
exposers whose assignment is not truth
but separation. We declare discernment
over our ears. We declare discipline
over our attention. We declare that our
focus will not be hijacked by noise
designed to pull us off the road of
destiny. And now, Father, we pray for
the same thing Samson carried. Let the
spirit of the Lord come mightily upon
us, not gently, not faintly, but
mightily. Let power surge through our
spirit, our soul, and our body. Let
strength rise without weapons, for the
scripture declares that though he had
nothing in his hand, he tore the lion
apart. Tonight, we declare that we do
not need human tools to win spiritual
